Euskaraldia is a social movement to activate the use of Basque.
Euskaraldia is a social movement to change the linguistic habits of speakers who understand Basque, created to influence the whole of the Basque Country. The movement aims to activate the linguistic practices of citizens and increase the use of Basque, prioritising Basque in their daily relations and through a massive 11-day joint social practice.
The time has come to broaden the objectives of Euskaraldia: it is not just a dynamic that is limited to these days of exercise, but an initiative that aims to nurture the movement to activate the use of Basque and take root in society.
In other words, the main objective of Euskaraldia is to shake up the inertia of linguistic habits and to take steps to encourage citizens to use Basque more, as well as to promote the adoption of opportunities and measures to live in Basque. Euskaraldia, in a collective and social way, makes it possible to activate and collaborate with the local Basque world, creating measures and spaces that make it possible to live in Basque.
It is especially a collective exercise or practice. It is possible to participate in this exercise on a personal and/or collective level.
