Ulibarri

What is Ulibarri?

The Ulibarri programme seeks to implement a Basque language normalisation process in schools by turning schools into an ecosystem that encourages the Basque language and influences its use among members of the education community.

In recent years, through the Language Normalization of Schools projects, the Basque Autonomous Community Schools have made great efforts and huge advances in the didactics of Basque, in the training of teachers in the language, in the materials and in the knowledge among and use by students. MEKA has its own project and is working in this direction. Thanks to the involvement of the Basque Committee, teachers, students, parents and local players, it participates in various initiatives in collaboration with different players in the area.

Such as:

  • Euskaraldia
  • Korrika
  • Basque Language Day
  • Errigora
  • Motivation sessions
  • Work Experience in Basque
  • Video tutorial competition
  • Working on language criteria
  • Translating materials into Basque
